Truck 01 is a remarkable truck with an equally remarkable story. This Volvo L495 was Ad van den Bosch's very first truck, the truck he used to start his transport company in 1964. The truck has been fully restored in the old style and breathes the times of the past. It is still used as a show model during trick events and occasions from Van den Bosch.
In the early years, the Volvo Titan with open trailer was used to transport bagged goods, such as flour for bakers, packaging paper and meat and bone meal. Driving the truck was hard work, because it didn't have hydraulic power steering and it was very important to do your stops in the right order.
The truck was phased out of the fleet over time, until it returned secretly in 1986, when the staff association and various sponsors pooled together funds to buy a similar Volvo. In 1986, to celebrate the cleaning in Erp openings its doors, the renovated Volvo Titan was finally presented to Ad van den Bosch. Former driver Hans van Rooij was there at the time and will never forget that moment: “Seeing Peter van den Bosch and his sister Anita drive the truck in was one of the best experiences I’ve had here. What a sound! And I still remember Ad beaming with pride. It's been the company’s flagship truck ever since.”
